JEE and NEET to be held twice a year

A recent announcement made by the Honorable HRD Minister Mr. Prakash Javdekar has brought smiles to the faces of JEE and NEET aspirants.
The decision of conducting JEE and NEET exams twice a year has resulted in a rational approach in relieving the stress level of students to some extent. The students are entitled to appear in either of the two or both exams considering the best score for the admission process. JEE mains would be held in January and April and NEET in February and May for the academic sessions beginning in August of every year.

The other developments state that now onwards the exams would be taken up exclusively on online mode and would be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) instead of CBSE. The later step taken by the government to lay off a little burden from the shoulders of CBSE would leave it with some space to center around enhancing the nature of educational modules giving it a more scientific and innovating approach.
National Testing Agency is an autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization, to conduct the entrance exams for the higher educational institutions.. This body will assume control over the direct of exams from CBSE. So NTA will hold every one of the exams which CBSE has been holding currently including JEE Main, NEET, UGC NET, GPAT and CMAT. Hence from 2019 onwards, NTA will direct all the previously mentioned 5 exams. Gradually it will assume responsibility of other CBSE held exams too.
With the above proclamation in effect, it is now not required to wait for another whole year if the student has not had a good day. They can further schedule their study plan accordingly. Appearing in the 1st examination will make them aware of their weak and strong areas as well.
NTA would be providing free of cost computer based tests through dedicated centres and test downloads so as to accustom the students to the new format. No changes have been done on the syllabus and there would be no increase in the cost of application as well.
This step of the government towards a more reliable, transparent and leak proof examination is a step further towards the Digital India.
